Education 🎓

Professor Dr. Monjurul Haq earned his doctoral degree in Food Engineering/ Separation Process Laboratory from the Department of Food Science & Technology at the College of Fisheries Science, Pukyong National University, Busan, Republic of Korea, in August 2018. His thesis focused on the physicochemical properties and quality enhancement of lipids and phospholipids extracted from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) by-products using supercritical fluids, achieving a remarkable CGPA of 4.38 out of 4.50 for coursework. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed a Master of Science (MS) in Fisheries Technology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh, in July 2008, with a thesis on improving the quality of traditional smoked shrimp products. He graduated with distinction, earning a CGPA of 3.945 out of 4.00. Dr. Haq began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Fisheries from the same institution in October 2006, graduating at the top of his class with a CGPA of 3.940 out of 4.00.

Professional Experience

Since July 2022, Professor Dr. Monjurul Haq has served as a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Bioscience at Jashore University of Science and Technology, Jashore, Bangladesh. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Associate Professor from November 2018 to July 2022 and Assistant Professor from August 2012 to November 2018 within the same department. Dr. Haq began his academic career as a Lecturer in July 2009, where he made significant contributions to teaching and research. His administrative experience includes serving as the Advisor of the Research Cell at Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah Institute of Advanced Studies and Research since June 2019 and as Provost (In-charge) of Shaheed Mashiur Rahman Hall from December 2013 to August 2014. He also held roles as Assistant Provost from October 2010 to November 2012 and again from April 2013 to November 2013 at Jashore University of Science and Technology, demonstrating his commitment to academic leadership and student welfare.
