Dr. Md. Moyen Uddin PK has an extensive academic background in the field of biochemistry and medicinal chemistry. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry at Rajshahi University, focusing on identifying novel anticancer polysaccharides from Pleurotus ostreatus, with an expected degree completion in August 2024. Dr. Uddin earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rajshahi University, graduating with First Class honors and securing the top position in both programs. His undergraduate studies spanned from January 2000 to December 2003, and his Master’s from January 2004 to December 2004. Prior to his higher education, he completed his Higher Secondary Certificate and Secondary School Certificate with First Division in the Science Group at N S Govt. College and Sadhanpur High School, respectively.
Professional Experience
Dr. Md. Moyen Uddin PK has accumulated extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings. He has been serving as an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) since September 2017. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Lecturer at Primeasia University’s Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from January 2016 to March 2017, and a Lecturer in the same department from February 2012 to December 2015. Dr. Uddin also worked as a Consultant Biochemist at Anwer Khan Medical College & Hospital Ltd. from January 2008 to December 2011. His earlier experience includes a position as a Research Assistant at the Protein Research Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Rajshahi University, from July 2007 to December 2007.

Dr. Md. Moyen Uddin PK’s research interests are diverse and encompass several advanced fields. He focuses on Protein Chemistry, including the study of protein interactions and structural biology. In Cell Biology, he investigates cellular processes and mechanisms underlying disease. His work in Molecular Immunology explores immune responses at a molecular level, while in Neurobiology, he studies the molecular basis of neural function and disorders. Bioinformatics is another key area, where he applies computational tools to analyze biological data. He is also engaged in research on the Molecular Basis of Diseases, examining how genetic and environmental factors contribute to disease. In Radiation Genetics, he explores the impact of radiation on genetic material, and his work in Computer-Aided Drug Design involves using computational methods to develop new therapeutic agents. (Hon’s) at Rajshahi University in 2003. Additionally, he was awarded a Gold Medal for achieving 1st Class 1st positions in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Thesis) from his residential hall at Rajshahi University. His academic excellence was further recognized with a Merit Scholarship at both undergraduate and graduate levels at Rajshahi University. His Molecular Biology expertise includes techniques such as agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE for DNA isolation, real-time PCR, various microscopy techniques, DNA recombinant synthesis, plasmid DNA culture, and ELISA.
