Dr. Aroop Mohanty has pursued a rigorous academic journey, beginning with his schooling at K.V No: 1 in Ferozepur Cantt, Punjab, where he achieved an impressive 86.6% in his 10th grade examinations under the CBSE board in 2000. Continuing his academic excellence, he completed his 12th grade at K.V No: 2 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, securing 77.2% in 2002. Dr. Mohanty then pursued his passion for medicine by obtaining his M.B.B.S degree with an internship from MCOMS, Pokhara, Nepal, affiliated with Kathmandu University, in 2010, with a notable first attempt success and a focus on comprehensive medical training. He further specialized in Microbiology, earning his M.D. from SMIMS, Gangtok, Sikkim, through Sikkim Manipal University in 2015, demonstrating his commitment to advanced medical knowledge. Driven by a quest for expertise in infectious diseases, he pursued and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Infectious Diseases from the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2018, further enriching his medical qualifications and global perspectives.
Professional Experience
Dr. Aroop Mohanty brings a wealth of experience in academic and clinical settings, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at AIIMS Gorakhpur since May 2020. Prior to this, he held the position of Assistant Professor at AIIMS Rishikesh from September 2019 to May 2020, where he contributed significantly to medical education and research. His earlier roles include Senior Resident at AIIMS Rishikesh from July 2016 to September 2019, where he gained extensive clinical experience and expertise in microbiology. Before joining AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr. Mohanty served as a Registrar at Kasturba Medical College Hospital in Mangalore from November 2015 to July 2016, where he further honed his skills in medical practice and patient care. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and paramedical students, conducting research, and contributing to hospital infection control measures and academic development.
